Trusting God (IRAQ)

Corey recently received word that he has been chosen to go to Iraq for one year. He will leave in January. We are devastated. I am at a loss for words… Please pray for our family.

9/23 Psalm 112:7-8 We will not fear bad news; Our hearts are confident, trusting in the Lord. Our hearts are assured; We will not fear.

9/24 THIS IS THE DAY THE LORD HAS MADE!!! PSALM 118:24 A familiar verse but very powerful to me today. I want to focus on THIS day!! The Lord has blessed us more than we could ever ask or imagine. We do not want to be set on what is to come but enjoy THIS day and make it the best day we can for His glory!

Psalm 119:165 Abundant PEACE belongs to those who love Your instruction; NOTHING makes them stumble

10/13 Psalm 62:5-8 Rest in God alone, my soul, for my hope comes from Him.  He ALONE is my rock and my salvation, my stronghold; I will NOT be shaken.  My salvation and glory DEPEND on God; my strong rock, my refuge, is in God.  Trust in Him at ALL times, you people; Pour out your hearts before HIm. God is our refuge.

10/13 update: Corey leaves for a one week training this month in Washington State. November and December will fly by with the holidays. We are so thankful that he will not be leaving until after the new year. He will leave for the month on January for more training. We will then spend the first two weeks of Feb. together before he leaves for Iraq. Continue to pray for our family.

Oh, Angel, I am sorry to hear this. Kevin was gone for a year recently to Korea. It was a hard year, but it’s gone and it’s been over a year and a half ago since he got back. Time goes by ever so quickly. I know that is no comfort right now. My church was such a rock for me during that time. I know you probably have a good church home too. The only advice I give you is to LET them help you. Will you go home or stay there?
